About Africa Ka Mahamba (Owner and Director of e'Kasi Photo Studio)

Africa Ka Mahamba started his photographic career in
​ 1985 ​after ​buying a second hand 126 film Kodak
​ camera. In 1987 ​he managed ​to buy another second
​hand camera Yashika ​J5 and the passion for ​
​photography grew day by day.

In 1988 Africa started to freelance as a photographer for
​ Bophuthatswana newspaper The Mirror which was
​based in ​ Babelegi in Hammanskraal. He freelanced for
​The ​ Mail (Now known as Mafikeng Mail) the same year.

Africa’s pictures had appeared on newspapers and
​magazines ​ such as Sowetan, New Nation, Sunday
​World, City Press, ​Daily Sun, Sunday Sun , Bona,
​True Love, Next, Pace, and ​ many others to name few
​on a long list. On 5 September 2001 ​ he received a
​certificate of achievement from Kodak ​Professional
​Institute of Photography at Morula Sun hotel
​in Mabopane.


Africa specialized in weddings, parties, cooperate events,
​graduations, funerals, tombstones unveiling, school events
